Nancy Did It

Sid was a punk, plain and simple. So it was no surprise that he was already into drugs when he met Nancy Spungen. In fact, as the film 'Sid and Nancy' shows, he met Nancy when he attempted to buy heroin off her. She was a flaky woman to say the least and already an addict herself. Maybe if Sid had never met her'd still be alive today. Or maybe he'd have gotton into drugs to heavily all on his own.

It was never proven that Sid was Nancy's killer. Maybe she had comitted suicide in her drug induced state of mind. Or maybe, yes, he killed her. Either way, it wasn't truly Sid's fault. Had he been her killer, the drugs could've easily influenced his actions. And had she comitted suicide, it could've been because of her all too clear mental problems. Sid Vicious loved Nancy Spungen, that was clear. And he loved music. And he loved the fame. Forever I'll remember him. You should too.

On the morning of October 12, 1978, a year after the Sex Pistols broke up, Sid Vicious awoke in a Chelsea Hotel room to find the lifeless body of Nancy in the bathroom. Although he couldn't recall the events from the previous night he confessed to the murder of Nanct Spungen. After Virgin Records bailed him out, he attempted suiside with a razor. It was clear that Nancy's death had destroyed him. On February 1, 1979 he took some bad heroin from his mother and shot up again later that night. But it would be the last time. The following morning he was found dead, of an over dose. He was only 21 years old.
